Lowell Odis Hughes Jr. passed away at home on September 17, 2018, he was 56 years old. Funeral services will be held 2:00pm Monday, September 24 at The Mission Bible Church with burial to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the church.
Lowell was born in Hobbs on January 28, 1962 to his loving parents Lowell Sr and Louise Hughes, one of three boys. After high school he attended the New Mexico Jr College where he and his father were the first parent child pair to graduate together in 1982. Lowell then went on to attend Beeville College where he graduated in 1985 with an associate degree in Dental Hygiene. A year later Lowell took his skills over-seas and worked in Switzerland for a year before coming home and working over 30 years in the Hobbs/Lovington area as every child's favorite dental hygienist. Lowell married his childhood sweetheart, Janet, in 2005 and together they shared just under 14 years. He is preceded in death by his son, Jonathan Thomas Hughes.
Lowell will always be remembered in the hearts of those he left behind, his lovely wife Janet Hughes, parents Lowell Sr and Louise Hughes, 2 brothers Micheal and Von, and children Kelsey Garcia, Amber Davidson and Chris Trujillo all of Hobbs.
He will be remembered for the love and dedication he had for his job. We will miss his beautiful smiles, his laughter, his love for dogs and for children. Lowell will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

We are so very sorry for your loss. Please find comfort in God's sure promise of a resurrection as set forth in the Bible (Acts 24:15, John 5:28, 29). Those who are raised to life on a restored paradise earth will have the prospect of never again being subjected to misery, sickness, and death (Revelation 21:4). These and other comforting Bible verses and thoughts can be found at jw.org.

I am so sorry for your loss. I have so many good memories of times spent with the Hughes family as a teenager. May all of you feel God's loving arms around you during this difficult time.
