Elsie Salazar

It is with great sadness that the family of Elsie R. Salazar announces her passing on Tuesday, October 22, 2019, at the age of 94 in San Angelo, TX.  Elsie was born on May 1, 1925 in Colorado City, TX to Eduvijes & Dorethea Ramirez.  As a child Elsie grew up on a farm where she learned to be a talented horseman.  Elsie was only able to complete the third grade but that did not represent her intelligence nor determination.   As a teenager Elsie would help her grandmother, a mid-wife, deliver babies and then drive her to the courthouse to document the birth.  Maturing to a young adult, Elsie worked her way to be a nurse.  In 1950, she married and settled in Hobbs, NM where she raised her family. Elsie will be lovingly remembered by her brother Mike & spouse Mary Ramirez, her five children Edwin Sr, Jennie Harrington, Yolanda Lozano, Barbara & spouse Mark Busch, Louis Jr & spouse Melissa Salazar, by her fifteen grandchildren:  Ronnie, Monica, Edwin Jr, Erica, Michael, Robert, Tammy, Lorie, Ramiro Jr, Christopher, Valerie, Jeremy, Marcus, Brandon & Aiden and by her nine great-grandchildren:  Abseynia, Bryant, Syan, Avery, Emilie, Lusia, Arriana, Rene Jr, & Eitan.  Elsie will be forever remembered by her numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends for being the life of the party.  She was the rock and strength of her family, leading with faith and love, instilling strong values and sharing wisdom.
