Alfred Mejorado

Alfred R. (J.R.) Mejorado, 55, of Hobbs, passed away peacefully while surrounded by his family on Sunday, April 3, 2016. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 am, Thursday, April 7, 2016 at St. Helena Catholic Church with Reverend Ricardo Bauzá as celebrant. Interment will follow in Prairie Haven Memorial Park. Visitation will be Wednesday from 1:00-7:00 pm with a rosary to be recited at 6:00 pm at Griffin Funeral Home.

J.R. was born on January 6, 1961 in San Jose, CA to Audelia and Alfredo B. Mejorado. Throughout his lifetime, he was always a caretaker. Whether a person was young or old, J.R. befriended them. He enjoyed being with friends and cooking out; he loved music, but most of all he loved being with his family. J.R. will be remembered as a stranger to no one and having a big heart. He was preceded in death by his father, Alfredo B. Mejorado; his Mejorado grandparents and his Rivas grandparents.

Survivors include his mother, Audelia Mejorado; sisters, Alma Garcia (Rick) and Debbie Lynn Mejorado Martinez (Robert); brothers, Steven Mejorado (Margie), Anthony Mejorado (Cathy) and Ray Mejorado (Diane); nieces, Lisa Marie Calvillo Priscilla Trujillo, Amanda Mejorado, Heather Bishop, Brittney Benberry, Jazmin Barron, Angel Marie Barron, Marissa Gonzalez and Mackenzie Rodriguez; nephews, Richard Garcia and Justin Wise; good friends, Dakota Carpenter, Daniel Morando III, Shelby Delozier, Bob Carrillo and John Chris Daniel and many friends.
