Alice Carder

Alice Carder, 93, of Spenser, Oklahoma, passed away Saturday, June 27, 2015 in Spenser. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at St. John Baptist Church with Pastor B.J. Choice, Sr., officiating. Interment will follow in Prairie Haven Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00-4:00 PM, Monday, July 6 at Griffin Funeral Home.

Alice was born on April 11, 1922 in Clarksville, TX to C. Wright Mitchell and Willie Florence Mitchell (Roberson). She married Charles Carder in 1953 and they celebrated over 62 years or marriage until his passing in April 2014. While married, they travelled and lived in many cities during his military career. Alice was a licensed cosmetologist and worked many years in hair salons. After retirement, she visited residents in the nursing home several times each week.
Alice was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Mattie B. Henderson; brothers, C.D. Mitchell, Charles Mitchell and C.H. Mitchell.

Survivors include her sisters, Rubelia Mitchell and Ernestine Hodge and numerous nieces and nephews.
