Alicia T. Dimas passed away peacefully on Friday, August 15th, at the age of 81. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who always strived to be there for her family, especially

her children, to whom she dedicated her life with profound love. In any situation or event, large or small, everyone knew they could count on her, with that generosity that characterized her. From the moment one entered her home, there were photographs everywhere, portraits of her entire family, who were

always her greatest pride. Always cheerful, with a great love for music and dance, in addition to being a devout Catholic, she was an active member of the community at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. She was a courageous and hardworking woman, as well as an excellent cook who undoubtedly left an indelible mark on those who lived with her.

She was born on October 14, 1943, in Ojinaga, Chihuahua, Mexico. The daughter of Perfecto Mendoza and María Santos Trujillo, she studied and worked as a nurse in Mexico. In 1971, she moved to Hobbs, New Mexico, with her children in her arms. She held various jobs until she found her calling, cooking.

She worked in restaurants until she achieved her goal: owning her own restaurant, known for its delicious dishes.

Always willing to help, she began preparing tamales for the church community, to which she dedicated a large part of her life. They were very important to her. She attended Mass every Sunday with great

devotion.

She is survived by her sons Ricardo Mendoza, Roberto Mendoza, and Noel Mendoza. Her legacy will remain with her grandchildren: Georgina Bernal, Heather Villalobos, Cynthia Mendoza, Roberto Jr Mendoza, Rudy Mendoza, Alonso Mendoza, Martin Mendoza, Jazzalynn Mendoza, Nikoles Mendoza, and Aryannah Mendoza. Her 12 Grandchildren will remember her with great love and respect.

She is also survived by her siblings: Agustina Torres, Wenceslao Mendoza "Chinina," Rubén Mendoza, Israel Mendoza, and Alejandrina Jordan "Elsa." Besides being Alicia's sister, or "Gordis," as she called her, they were great friends and adventure partners, always sharing memories. Without a doubt, Alicia's

irreparable loss will leave a great void in the hearts of all her family and friends, but her memory will be honored, and she will be farewelled with all the love and respect of her loved ones.
