Alma Haynes

Alma "Joan" Haynes, 79, of Hobbs, passed away Friday, April 10, 2015 in Odessa, TX. Funeral services will be 1:00 PM, Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at Griffin Funeral Home with Pastors David Matkins and Mike Adams, officiating. Interment will follow in Prairie Haven Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00-6:00 PM, Tuesday the 14th at Griffin Funeral Home.

Joan was born on October 14, 1935 in Killeen, TX to Ples and Mattie Hallmark. She married James W. Haynes in 1962 and they were married for over 48 years until his death. Joan attended New Mexico Junior College and worked for many years as a bookkeeper. She enjoyed sewing and tending to her garden. Joan was known for helping and encouraging others. Joan was preceded in death by her parents, husband and son, James Marcus Haynes.

Survivors include her daughters, Jeannie Ann Kendrick, (Alex) and Etta May Sharp, (Leon); son, William Tanner Haynes, (Julie); 2 sisters; 1 brother and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
