Berl Russell

Berl L. Russell, 78, of Hobbs, passed away Thursday, October 16, 2014. Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Monday, October 20, 2014 at Vista Pointe Baptist Church with Pastor Chuck Snyder, officiating. Interment will follow in Prairie Haven Memorial Park. Visitation will be Sunday from 2:007:00 PM at Griffin Funeral Home.

Berl was born on November 17, 1935 in Stuart, Oklahoma to Everett and Zoie Russell. He married Novella Shropshire on May 2, 1956 in Hobbs and they celebrated over 58 years of wonderful marriage. Berl was a good ole country boy who enjoyed country and western movies and songs. He enjoyed fishing and being with his family. Berl was preceded in death by his parents 4 brothers and 2 sisters.

Survivors include his wife, Novella Russell of the home daughters, Sandra Hambrick Murray of Midland, TX, Donna Sue Ellis of Hobbs and Rhonda Hilderbrand of England son, Allen Russell, Robi of Hobbs foster son, Ricky Goode of Arkansas brother, Gerl Russell Alta of Stuart, OK 4 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
