Betty Blocker

Betty Blocker, 93, passed away Tuesday, August 16, 2016 in Englewood, Colorado. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM, Saturday, August 27, 2016 at First United Methodist Church with Reverend Dustin S. Burrow, officiating. Interment will follow in Cooper Cemetery, Jal, NM.

Betty was born on August 22, 1922 in Big Spring, Texas to Spencer and Anne Leatherwood. She married John Blocker on April 12, 1943 in Big Spring, Texas and they celebrated over 70 years of wonderful marriage together until his death in 2013. Betty worked with her husband in their real estate and insurance business in Jal, NM for 27 years. They moved to South Dakota and ranched for 30 years. After retiring, Mr. and Mrs. Blocker resided in Hobbs for 10 years and then moved to Denver in 2010 to be near their children.

Survivors include her daughters, Sue Goosen, Judi Dyer and Jenni Bagaus; 7 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
