Byron (Mark) Kirk, age 61, went home to his Heavenly Father on September 1st 2020. Mark was born on July 8, 1959 to Roy Milton Kirk and Elizabeth Faye Coleman. He lived his entire life on the Coleman Ranch, homesteaded in 1902 by his grandparents, John and Cordelia Coleman.

As his parents aged he took over the operations on the ranch until his death. Mark married his longtime love, Rebecca Gay in 2013. He was a volunteer fireman for 42 years and became Captain Kirk at the Knowles Fire Department. He was an active member of the Cowboy Junction Church.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Rebecca Kirk; daughter, Tela (Joseph) Avila, and her children¸ Zachariah, Fontella and Faith. Also left to cherish his memory are his siblings: John (Linda) Kirk, Frances (Jim) Horton, Carolyn (Don) Layman, and Terri (James) Blandin; one aunt, Mildred Wier; one uncle, Lewis (Karla) Coleman; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Graveside Service will be at 10:00 AM, Friday, September 4, 2020 at Teague Cemetery. Please be aware that face masks and social distancing is mandatory.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Knowles Fire Department at 515 E Pinson Street, Hobbs or the National Hemophilia Foundation @hemophilia.org.
