David Barela

David G. Barela, 55, of Hobbs, left peacefully on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at his residence. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM, Monday, January 20, 2014 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Father Ruben Romero as celebrant. Interment will follow in Prairie Haven Memorial Park. A rosary will be recited at 6:00 PM, Sunday the 19th at Griffin Funeral Home.
David was born on November 15, 1958 in Roswell, NM to Albert F. and Yolanda G. Barela. He worked in the oilfield for most of his life. David was an avid hunter and loved the outdoors. He especially loved being with his family and friends and spending time with his nieces and nephews. David was preceded in death by his father, Albert F. Barela brother, Joe. G. Barela nephew, Benjamin Keith Fernandez grandparents, Joe F. and Rosa Barela and Francisco V. and Maria R. Gomez.
He leaves behind a family that loves him and will miss him tremendously. Survivors include his mother, Yolanda G. Barela brother, Albert G. Barela sisters, Patricia Jaramillo and Cyndi Barela and numerous nieces and nephews.
