Derick Terrell

Derick Charles Terrell, 51, of Hobbs, passed away Saturday, April 9, 2016. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, April 14, 2016 at Lane Chapel, CME Church with Reverend Larron Fields, officiating. Interment will follow in Prairie Haven Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 1:00-7:00 pm, Wednesday the 13th at Griffin Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 pm.

Derick was born on June 26, 1964 in Bedford, MA to Charley and Shirley Terrell. He served his country in the United States Marine Corp. Derick married Anndranette Mosley on July 22, 1993 in Seminole, Texas and they celebrated over 22 years of wonderful marriage. He worked for 17 years at Wal-Mart and the last 3 years at Frank's Supply. Derick was an avid Oakland Raiders fan and enjoyed watching movies. He loved being with his family especially his grandchildren. His church was very important to him, giving him and his family the strength to fight his illness to the very end. Derick was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley Terrell and grandparents, Joe and Marie Hill.

Survivors include his wife, Anndranette Terrell of Hobbs; daughter, Ashley Mosley of Athens, TX; son, Derick D'Marcus Terrell of Hobbs; father, Charley Terrell and his wife, Florence of San Antonio, TX; mother-in-law, Bessie Mosley of Hobbs; sister, Sonya Terrell of Hobbs; brothers, Marcus Terrell of San Antonio, TX and Elvis Rice; grandchildren, Jaylen Mosley and Jordan Coleman and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
