Dolly Johnson

Dolly Mae Johnson, 73, of Hobbs passed away Monday, October 23, 2017. A Funeral Mass will be held 2:00 pm, Friday, October 27, 2017 at St. Helena Catholic Church with Father Paul Karieakatt, Celebrant. Visitation will be Thursday from 12:00-7:00 pm with a rosary to be recited at 6:00 pm at Griffin Funeral Home.

Dolly was born on November 11, 1943 in Mesa, AZ to Grover and Beatrice Waddle. She was the youngest of 12 children. Dolly married DeWayne Johnson in 1959 and they celebrated over 26 years of wonderful marriage until his death in 1986. She was a member of St. Helena Catholic Church. Dolly enjoyed cooking, shopping and dancing. She loved taking care of her family; especially hanging out with her grandchildren. Dolly was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Darrell Johnson and grandchildren Patrick and Jeremy Newell.

Survivors include her children Sharon Botkin and Ronnie Johnson; one sister and two brothers; grandchildren Ashley Johnson, Michelle DeLeon, Brandon Johnson, Kyle Johnson, Joshua Johnson, Justin Johnson, Pamela Johnson, Kristen Weathers and Penny Mead and 14 great grandchildren.
