Donald Stamper

Donald Ray Stamper, 81, of Hobbs, passed away February 14, 2014 in Hobbs. A memorial service will be held 10:00 AM, Friday, February 21, 2014 at The Door Christian Church with Pastor Jesse Rios, officiating. Inurnment will take place at a later date in the Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside, California.

Mr. Stamper was born on September 2, 1932 in Adams County, Ohio to Wiley and Minnie Stamper. He married Laura Maurer in Lordsburg, NM and they celebrated over 63 wonderful years of marriage. Donald served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. After serving in the military, they settled in California and raised their family. They moved to Hobbs in 2002 and became involved in the church. He loved his church family and was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. Mr. Stamper was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers.

Survivors include his wife, Laura Stamper daughter, Roxanna Sheli Smith and husband, Nicholas sons, James Michael Stamper and wife, Yolanda, John David Stamper and wife, Sandra and Donald Ray Stamper, Jr. and wife, Louise sisters, Easter, Susan, Faye, Anna and Deborah brothers, Paul and Steven 9 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
