Florene Cook

Florene P. Cook, 72, of Hobbs, passed away Thursday, March 27, 2014 in Hobbs. Graveside services will be 2:00 PM, Monday, March 31, 2014 in Prairie Haven Cemetery with the Reverend Shawn Drake, officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, the 28th from 1:007:00 PM at Griffin Funeral Home.

Mrs. Cook was born on September 7, 1941 in Wichita Falls, Texas to Floyd and Lorene Worthley. She married Kenneth Cook on July 22, 1960 in Hobbs and they celebrated over 40 years of marriage until his death in 2000. Florene worked for over 25 years as the receptionist at the medical offices of Dr. T.G. McCormick, Dr. Braswell and Dr. Bublis. She was also preceded in death by her parents and 2 sisters.

Survivors include her sons, David Cook and Elvia of Hobbs, Darryl Cook and wife, Sandra of Hobbs and Kenneth Cook, Jr. and wife, Teresa of Dallas sister, Mary Sifford of Hobbs 8 grandchildren, Taylor, Tori, Darryl, Tatum, Justin, Chris, Pamela and Andrew and 1 great grandson, Anthony.
