Frank Rose

Frank was born in El Paso, TX on April 30, 1944, to the late Betsy and U.M. Rose. He died at his home in Hobbs on January 13, 2018. Frank was a resident of Hobbs since 1946.

Frank graduated from NMMI and UNM with a BBA. After UNM he was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the U. S. Army. He served as an instructor at Fort Lee in Virginia and was promoted there to 1st Lieutenant in the Vietnam era. He served in the U.S. Army Reserve, where he became Captain, until 1978. Frank earned his NM Electrical Contractor's license and was employed by K & S Electric for over 30 years. In the past, he was active in the Hobbs Jaycees and the Hobbs Community Players. He also did lighting for the Southwest Symphony and Miss N.M. pageants. Frank was a former Deacon at First Presbyterian Church and a member of the Chancel Choir.

He is survived by his fiancée Marilyn Metcalfe, the love of his life for 24 years and their dog, Honey Rose. Frank is also survived by his beloved cousin, Catherine Scriven and husband, Henry and their son, Joel, and his family of Bangkok, Thailand and the Scriven's daughter Anna Pienaar and her family of Washington, D.C.
