Frank Collins Sr. age 87, of Hobbs, passed away Monday August 6, 2018. He was born on April 6, 1931 to Joseph and Etta Collins in Meadow, TX. He married his wife Dorothy 67 years ago, and together they raised their only son, Frank Jr. Frank was a dedicated hardworking man, lover of western music, and guitar player with passion for horses, specifically racing horses. He raced horses all over New Mexico, and continued to follow the sport once his racing days were done. He drove trucks in the oil industry for most of his career before becoming a dispatcher with Unichem where he eventually retired. He will be dearly missed.
Frank is survived by his loving wife Dorothy, son Frank (Charlotte) Collins Jr. of Sundown TX grandchildren; Stoney (Phyllisha) Collins of Lovington NM, Stacey Collins of Hobbs, NM, brother Jim (Dorotha) Collins of Hobbs NM, sister Ann (Corky) Jackson of Lovington NM, great-grandchildren; Kayla (Michael) Pharr of Lubbock, TX, Brittney Easterwood of Snyder, TX, Katlyn Collins of Wolforth TX, Whittney Easterwood of Hobbs NM, Hope Collins of Lovington NM, Riley Collins Of Lovington NM and great-great-grandson Owen Pharr of Lubbock TX. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral Services will be held 10:00 AM on Saturday August 11, 2018 at Griffin Funeral Home with interment to follow in the Causey Cemetery, Pastor John Ayers presiding. A visitation will be held on Friday from 2:00-7:00 PM at Griffin Funeral Home.
