Georgia Jackson

Georgia Jackson, 87, of Hobbs, passed away Monday, September 14, 2015. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at Griffin Funeral Home.

Georgia was born on December 13, 1927 in Troup, Texas to Hazel and Murle Grimes. She was raised in East Texas and moved to Hobbs in the early 50's. Georgia worked at the Ramada Inn and George's Restaurant and she also delivered papers for the El Paso Times and the Fort Worth Star Telegram. Georgia enjoyed crocheting afghans for everyone and helping people. She loved to travel but her true love was taking care of her children. Georgia was preceded in death by her parents and son, Gary Elms.

Survivors include her daughter, Sheri Spiller of Hobbs; brother, Ben Grimes of Naples, TX; grandchildren, Stormy Cheairs and Smoky White; great grandchildren, Austin, Brenden, Cason, Xavier and Jase and nephew, Todd Grimes.
