Hattie Griffin

Homegoing services for Hattie Jewel Griffin will be held Saturday, October 10, 2015 at 11am at Christ Holy Temple, COGIC. Interment will follow in Prairie Haven Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday the 9th from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM with the wake from 6:00-8:00 pm at Griffin Funeral Home.

Our beloved Hattie Griffin was born in Bristow, Oklahoma on June 16, 1926 to Leford Shells and Lillie Washington. Her parents preceded her in death; her Mother went home to the Lord when Hattie was a very young girl and her father died as she was an adult. Three siblings of Hattie also preceded her, Marie Shells, Doris Shelton and Alfred Shells

Hattie was a resident of Hobbs, New Mexico for over 60 years where she had made her home. She was a café owner in Hobbs for many years. She had various places she was employed. Hattie raised her family in Hobbs and she was a member of Scharbauer Street Church of Christ.

A woman of ambition~ determination and hope, she left to mourn nine children.
Candee Fleming (Mike), Arletha Webster (Ted), Thomasine Rhodes, Ada J Fisher (Steve), Chris Shells, Darell Shells, Alvin Griffin (Tanya), Kenneth W. Griffin and Jessie Lynn Norbert; 24 grandchildren; siblings, Leford Shells, Mary Wrighter and Donnie Shells and a host of extended family members.
