H.D. Wilson

H.D. (Dean) Wilson, 75, of Hobbs, passed away Saturday, September 19, 2015 in Odessa, TX. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, September 25, 2015 at Griffin Funeral Home with Pastor Andrew Hebert, officiating. Interment will follow in Prairie Haven Memorial Park. Visitation will be on Thursday, the 24th from 12:00-7:00 PM at Griffin Funeral Home.

Dean was born on February 8, 1940 in Gilmer, TX to Vollie and Julia Wilson. He was a member of the Army National Guard. Dean married Annabel Shaw on November 6, 1962 and they celebrated 40 wonderful years together until her death in 2002. He owned Blasting Sand Paint & Supply in Hobbs for over 40 years. Dean loved to fish, hunt and ride motorcycles. He was known for his big heart and he never met a stranger. Dean married Julia Hutson on August 2003. He was also preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Julia Wilson of the home; daughter, Vicki Hughes and husband, Ron of Odessa, TX; son, Gary Wilson of Dallas, TX; sister, Billie McAndrew and husband, Frank of Hobbs; grandchildren, Brittany Hughes, Bryan Hughes and Dillon Wilson and great granddaughter, Scarlett Hughes.
