Henry Fisher

Henry Clay Fisher, 93, of Hobbs passed away Friday, March 16, 2018. Graveside services will be held 12:00 PM, Wednesday March 21, 2018 in Prairie Haven Memorial Park with the Reverend Larry Russell, officiating. Military Honors will be provided by the United States Army. Visitation will be Tuesday 12:00 PM - 7:00 PM at Griffin Funeral Home.

Henry was born on January 28, 1925 in Tunnelton, West Virginia to Henry and Julie Fisher, Sr. He married Catherine Engdahl Johnson on November 24, 1950 in Las Cruces, NM. They celebrated over 55 wonderful years of marriage until her passing on January 12, 2006. He joined the United States Army in 1943 and retired as Command Sergeant Major after serving over 30 years. Henry served in WWII, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He enjoyed bowling and playing golf.

Henry is survived by his daughters Patricia Dunlap Dunn of Hobbs and Julie Russell (Larry) of Cleburne, TX; sons Ronald Johnson (Betty) of Albuquerque, NM and Henry C. Fisher, III (Linda) of Atlanta, GA; 11 grandchildren; 40 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 7 siblings, 2 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
