Ida Watts

Ida Gale Watts, 87, of Hobbs passed away Friday, October 31, 2014 in Odessa, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, November 6, 2014 at Jefferson Street Church of Christ with Minister Lynn Money, officiating. Interment will follow in Prairie Haven Cemetery. Mrs. Watts will be in state Wednesday from 1:007:00 pm at Griffin Funeral Home.

Gale was born on January 9, 1927 in Ola, Arkansas to Harvey and Ida Runyan. She married W.O. Mule Watts on February 29, 1952 in Hobbs and they celebrated over 50 years of wonderful marriage until his death in 2002. Gale retired from GTE. She loved to cook and bake and always took baked goods to everyone. Gale had a great sense of humor. She was an active member of Jefferson Street Church of Christ. Gale was also preceded in death by her parents 2 brothers and 4 sisters.

Survivors include her son, Britt Watts of Buford, GA sister, Alta Franzoy of Odessa, TX and Samuel Ybarra, whom she considered as a son. Arrangements are under the direction of Griffin Funeral Home. Online condolences may be made to: www.griffinfuneralhomehobbs.com
