Janet Marie Collins, daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, dedicated educator, and lifelong resident of Eunice, New Mexico, passed away on November 24, 2019 at the age of 59 at her home.
Janet is survived by her husband, Arthur Collins of Eunice, New Mexico; her children, Angela Grady and her husband Cody Grady, Christina Grado and her wife Angela Grado; her grandchildren Castor, Emily, Connor, and Kylie Grady; her brother Wayne Flowers and his wife; her nieces Taylor Tovar and Paige Harrington and their spouses and children. She is predeceased by her father and mother, C. D. and Margery Flowers, her daughter Amanda Marie Collins, and her brothers Gary Flowers and Dickey Flowers.
Janet was born in Hobbs, New Mexico on December 10, 1959. On June 3, 1977 she married her high school sweetheart, Arthur, in Eunice, New Mexico. She graduated from the College of the Southwest in May 2000 with a degree in Education. She continued her education and earned a Master's degree in Special Education a short time later.
Janet was a dedicated teacher, dog lover, and avid crafter and baker. She enjoyed traveling with her husband to Alaska, Mexico, and many other beautiful destinations. She will be missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.
A private memorial service for the family will be held on the morning of Saturday, December 14, 2019 at the United Methodist Church in Eunice, New Mexico. In lieu of flowers, her family asks donations be made in her honor to the local humane society or animal shelter, The New Mexico Autism Society, or St. Jude's Hospital.
