Jerry J. Jordan, of Hobbs, passed away Thursday, January 2, 2014 in Hobbs. Graveside services will be 2:00 PM, Saturday, January 4, 2014 in Memory Gardens Cemetery with Pastor Brad Riemers, officiating. Military Honors will be provided by the United States Navy. The family will receive friends from 5:007:00 PM, Friday, the 3rd, at Griffin Funeral Home.

Mr. Jordan was born on December 20, 1943 in Pryor, Oklahoma to J.L. and Earlene Jordan. He served his country for four years in the United States Navy. Jerry grew up in Eunice, NM. He married Patsy Rayburn on January 21, 1965 and they celebrated 49 wonderful years of marriage. Jerry worked for the United States Postal Service for 33 years serving as a window clerk in Hobbs, Postmaster in Jal and retired as Postmaster in Lovington. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Joan Bishop.

Survivors include his sweetheart wife, Patsy Jordan, of the home daughters, Gail Varner and husband, Sullie of Hobbs and Kim Jett and husband, Chris of Hobbs son, Darin Jordan and wife, Angie of Austin, TX sister, Betty Turner of Mineral wells, TX brother, Billy Jordan and wife, Melba of Eunice, NM 7 grandchildren, Dylan, Caitlan, Brady, Vanessa, Joe, Martin, and Victoria 7 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
