Joe Conaway

Joe Conaway was born on July 29, 1923 in Westbrook, Texas to John and Lauri Conaway. He served his country in the United States Air Force. Joe married Bobbie Graves and they celebrated over 61 years of marriage before her death in 2008. They moved to Hobbs in 1946 and he owned and operated C&M Pipe and Supply for many years. Joe retired from Getty Oil Company in 1978. His passion was ranching and raising all kinds of animals from buffalos to zebras; he enjoyed showing off the animals to the school children on their field trips to the ranch. Joe was always telling jokes and visiting with everyone; he never met a stranger.

Survivors include his daughters, Jan Pfeiffer and Marsha McIlwain; grandchildren, Kelly Pfeiffer, Chris Pfeiffer, Heather Brown, Kyle Lathram and Shaun Conaway and 14 great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his parents; son, Donnell Charles Conaway; five brothers and sisters and granddaughter, Krista Dé�nne Lathram.
