Joe Orosco, Sr.

Joe Orosco, Sr., 81, of Hobbs passed away Monday, August 18, 2014 in Lubbock, Texas. Funeral services will be 10:30 AM, Friday, August 22, 2014 at Griffin Funeral Home with Father Ruben Romero as celebrant. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the United States Air Force Honor Guard. A Rosary will be recited at 6:00 PM, Thursday, August 21st at Griffin Funeral Home.

Mr. Orosco was born on May 29, 1933 in Artesia, NM to Benjamin and Julia Orosco. He served his country in the United States Air Force. Joe married Jane Carrillo and they celebrated 60 years of wonderful marriage. He retired from Conoco Phillips as a mechanic. Joe loved working on cars and won many car show awards with his prized El Camino. He was a member of the American Legion, St. Helena Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. Joe was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Jane Orosco of the home sons, Jose Orosco, Jr. of Fort Worth, TX and Rick Orosco of Hobbs brother, Tommy Orosco of Rio Rancho, NM grandchildren, Angelika Wilbur and Amanda Orosco and great grandchildren, Breane, Dominic, Anthony, Devon and Myah.
