Joe Reyes, Sr.

Joe Alvarez Reyes, age 89, Hobbs, NM, loving husband, father and grandfather, went to be with the lord on Thursday, December 21, 2017 at his home in Hobbs.

He was born on March 19, 1928 in Jalisco, Mexico and raised in Zacatecas, Mexico. He came to the United States in 1950 and married the love of his life, Lucy Garcia in 1955. They were together for 64 years. He worked multiple jobs until he found his love for building homes. He built his company Joe A. Reyes and Sons Construction In 1976 and retired in 1990. He is survived by his wife Lucy Reyes, daughter Liz Moquin and Phil Hetrick from Elizabethtown, PA, daughter Carol and Jim Rishe from Albuquerque, NM, son Rudy and Elvia Reyes from Red Oak, TX, son Mike Reyes from Hobbs, NM, son Pete and Bobbie Reyes, from Hobbs, NM, son Pat and Becky Reyes from Mesquite, TX, daughter Candy and Chris Nussbaumer from Irving, TX and son Alvin Reyes from Manassas, VI. Along with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be missed and never forgotten.

A visitation will take place on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at St. Helena's Catholic Church located at 100 E. Bender Blvd., Hobbs, NM from 1:30-2:00 PM and Funeral Mass will follow at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens located at 2909 N. Dal Paso Street, Hobbs, NM. Flowers may be delivered to St. Helena's Catholic Church.
