Jose (Joe) Guadalupe Zamora

Jose Guadalupe Zamora was born April 9, 1946, in La Joya, Texas to Encarnacion and Aurora Zamora. Joe passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by family August 12, 2025, in Hobbs, New Mexico.

If you knew Joe, you were lucky. He was a wonderful man that never hesitated to help those he saw with a need. It did not matter if he knew you personally or not. Joe was always smiling and making those around him smile with his stories and jokes. He was a Dallas Cowboys fan through and through. He loved watching the games. The only thing he loved more was his family, the love of his life Gilda, and his sons Joe, Alex, and Chris. Then came the grandkids and great grandkids! His life was always about family. He was the patriarch, always holding everyone together and guiding them anytime he was needed. He was a father figure to so many beyond his own sons and showed just as much love to each person. Joe was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.

Joe is survived by his wife Gilda Chacon Zamora, sons Joe E. Zamora (Cindy), Alejandro P Zamora (Lisa), and Christopher W. Zamora, 3 grandkids, and 5 great grandchildren, brothers Florentino Zamora, Alex Zamora Sr., Andres Zamora, sisters Idalena Lopez, Maclovia Martinez, and Lily Esparza, Lucilla Esparza, brother-in-laws Larry Briggs and Davis Briggs who were more like sons to him, a special niece Isabella, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Preceded in death by his parents Encarnacion and Aurora Zamora, brother Isreal Zamora, sisters Nora Martinez, and Maria De Jesus Chapa.
