Judy Cheatham

Judy B. Cheatham, 69, of Hobbs, passed away Monday, April 14, 2014 in Hobbs.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Thursday, April 17, 2014 at Griffin Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Elio Barrios officiating. Interment will follow in Prairie Haven Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5:007:00 PM, Wednesday at Griffin Funeral Home.

Mrs. Cheatham was born on March 30, 1945 in Hobbs, New Mexico to John and Ruby Hooper. She married Dan Cheatham on October 21, 1961 in Hobbs and they celebrated over 51 wonderful years together before his death on June 24, 2013. After raising four daughters, Judy worked at Hobbs Municipal Schools for over 15 years. She enjoyed camping and spending time at the cabin. Judy loved working in her yard, but her true love was being with her grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents, sister and brotherinlaw and brother and sisterinlaw.

Survivors include her daughters, Sandra Rueckert and husband, Scott of New Ulm, MN, Danna Pallanes of Hobbs, Audrey Lindy Cheatham of Hobbs and Karen Cheatham of Hobbs motherinlaw, Louise Cheatham of Hobbs brothersinlaw, Glenn Cheatham and Wayne Cheatham, both of Hobbs grandchildren, Corey, Jarrett, Maegan, Jordan, Bryana, Brendon, Courtney, Kayla, Jacob, Hailey and Emily and her great grandchildren, Janessa, Sophia, Everlii and DannyG.
