Obituary

**Larry Westmoreland**

**August 13, 1944 – November 1, 2026**

Larry Westmoreland, 82, of Eunice, New Mexico, passed away peacefully at his home on November 1, 2026.

Larry was born on August 13, 1944, in Gorman, Texas, to Nadine Westmoreland. He attended high school in Andrews, TX, graduating in 1963. Later, He proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1965 to 1967 and was a veteran of the Vietnam War.

On January 27, 1968, Larry married the love of his life, Sheron Taylor, in Andrews, Texas. Together they built a life centered on faith, family, and service, sharing nearly 59 years of marriage.

Larry dedicated 37 years of his career to El Paso Natural Gas Company. Following his retirement, he continued serving his community as an exterminator. His greatest calling, however, was his commitment to Christian ministry. After earning his pastoral certifications, Larry faithfully served as a substitute preacher for several area churches before becoming pastor of Nadine Baptist Church, where he preached for three years. He touched many lives through his unwavering faith, compassion, and dedication to sharing God’s word.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Nadine Bartee.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Sheron Westmoreland of Eunice, New Mexico; his daughters, Laura and husband Matt of Eunice, New Mexico, and Shelly and partner Brecke of Aurora, Colorado; his granddaughters, Kayla and Hailey; and six great-grandchildren, Kalie, Greyson, Paisley, Austin, Todd, and Kacey.

Larry will be remembered for his steadfast faith, love of family, dedicated service to his country, strong work ethic, and caring heart. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched and in the family he cherished.
