Lonnie Pierce

Lonnie Frank Pierce, 88, of Hobbs, passed away, Saturday, April 13, 2013 in Lovington. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at Prairie Haven Memorial Park Chapel with Pastor Jerry McArthur, officiating. Interment will follow in Prairie Haven Memorial Park.

Mr. Pierce was born on June 19, 1924 in Athens, Texas to Thomas and Flossie Pierce. He married Eulene Rushing on January 16, 1943 in Athens, Texas and they celebrated over 70 years of wonderful marriage. They came to Hobbs in 1951 and he worked for Rowan Drilling for over 20 years he then worked for Frontier Construction and retired in 1991. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, hunting and playing dominoes and cards. He was preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers and 2 sisters.

Survivors include his wife, Eulene Pierce, of the home children, Sherrie Bostick and husband, Mike, of Hobbs, Billy J. Pierce and wife, Phyllis of Hobbs and Sandra Thomas and husband, Ronnie of Ft. Worth, Texas sister, Elizabeth Jarosick of Boswell, Pennsylvania 6 grandchildrenl 14 great grandchildren 9 greatgreat grandchildren special nephew, Kenneth Pierce and numerous nieces and nephews.
