Louis Lopez

Louis Lopez, Sr., 89, of Hobbs, passed away Friday, June 20, 2014. Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM, Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at Griffin Funeral Home with Father Ruben Romero as Celebrant. Interment will follow in Prairie Haven Memorial Park. A rosary will be recited at 6:00 PM, Monday the 23rd at Griffin Funeral Home.

Louis was born on August 25, 1924 in Marfa, Texas to Eusebio and Epifinia Lopez. He married Andrea Mendez and they celebrated over 50 wonderful years of marriage until her death in 2002. Louis worked in the oilfield for over 50 years. He loved to watch westerns on television and loved to dance. Louis enjoyed going to McDonalds and drinking coffee with his friends. He was also preceded in death by his parents sister, Yolanda Hernandez and brothers, Paul Lopez and Shevo Lopez.

Survivors include his daughters, Lydia Green of Tyler, TX, Belia Lopez of Odessa, TX and Lucy Aguilar of Denver City, TX sons, Louis Lopez, Jr., Gregg Lopez and Tom Lopez all of Hobbs sisters, Juanita Olsen, Mary Torres, Irene Chavez and Oralia Acosta 8 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 11 great great grandchildren.
