Maria Jaquez

Maria Jaquez, 68 of Andrews, TX and formerly of Hobbs passed away Sunday, January 28, 2018 in Andrews. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Thursday, February 1, 2018 at Griffin Funeral Home. Visitation will be Wednesday from 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM and the rosary to be recited at 6:00 PM at the funeral home.

Maria was born on January 31, 1949 in Ft. Davis, TX to Salvador and Clara Mendoza. She married Manuel Jaquez in 1967 and they celebrated 51 years of wonderful marriage. Maria worked as an LVN throughout her life. She enjoyed camping and fishing and riding motorcycles with Manuel. Maria loved taking care of people especially her family. She was preceded in death by her father; brothers Juan Mendoza and Alonzo Mendoza and son Anthony Gomez.

Survivors include her husband Manuel Jaquez of Andrews, TX; daughters Kathy Padilla and husband Jake of Albuquerque and Sally Chavez and husband Cesar Jacobs of Odessa, TX; son Joey Jaquez and wife Pattie of Andrews, TX; mother Clara Mendoza; sisters Anita Vallejo and husband Marcos, Virginia Mendoza and her husband Lloyd and Consuelo Mendoza; 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
