Marian York

Marian I. York, 90, of Hobbs, passed away Friday, April 8, 2016 in Hobbs. Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM, Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints with Bishop Eric Johnson, officiating. Entombment will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 1:00-7:00 pm with the family to receive friends from 5:00-7:00 at Griffin Funeral Home.

Marian was born on April 24, 1925 in Douglas, Wyoming to Clarence and Leora Rickabaugh. She married Paul York on June 15, 1946 in Douglas, Wyoming and they celebrated over 63 wonderful years together until his death in 2009. Marian was an excellent seamstress and enjoyed gardening, crocheting, embroidering and quilting. She was very active in her church, singing in the choir and working in the genealogy room. Marian loved spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 1 brother and 1 sister.

Survivors include her daughters, Patricia Siler and husband, LaRoy of Phoenix, AZ, Paulie Gladden of Hobbs, NM and Donna Jo Pierce and husband, Jim of Hobbs; son, Tom York and wife, Lee of Wichita, Kansas; grandchildren, Justin Siler, Kim Stevenson, Belinda Haveman, Tim Gladden, Toby Gladden, Traci Jennings, Jennifer Tabares, Ronnie Hayes, Rodger Pierce, Brandie Greenlee, Chris York and Tommy York; 21 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; 2 nephews and 2 nieces.
