Marvin Scarber

Marvin Scarber, 74, of Hobbs, passed away Thursday, December 31, 2015. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 PM, Friday, January 8, 2016 at Griffin Funeral Home.
Marvin was born on July 29, 1941 in Decatur, TX to Luther and Dortha Scarber. He married Shirley Kovar on July 25, 1980 in Hobbs and they celebrated over 31 wonderful years together until her death in 2011. He loved working on cars, especially Mopar cars. Marvin was always helping those in need and believed in "random acts of kindness". He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother. Marvin was also preceded in death by his parents; 2 sisters and 2 brothers.
Survivors include his sons, Wayne Scarber of Hobbs and Bryan Scarber and wife, Joyce of Tularosa, NM; daughter, Tammy Priest of Hobbs; brothers, Alvin Scarber, Jr. of Odessa, TX and Zilmar Ward of Roswell, NM; 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
