Meagan Whitaker

Meagan Dion Whitaker, 24, slipped quietly and peacefully away at her home surrounded by her loving family on February 28, 2014. She was born on September, 24th, 1989 in Hobbs, New Mexico to Brandie Whitaker.

Meagan was raised and attended school in Hobbs, New Mexico where she was an honor graduate from Hobbs High School in 2012. Meagan was an avid Dora collector, she loved going to Sonic, attending school, shopping, TV, dressing up, traveling, and fishing. Meagan had a smile that lit up every room she went in. She touched the lives of everyone that she met, and was a true inspiration to all.

Survivors include: Brandie and Jason McAdams Mother and father Wridge and Payten Whitaker brother and sister DKota, Jeran, and Daisha McAdams Stepbrothers and sister Lance Persilver and Forest Perkins stepbrothers Billy and Shirley Rodgers Nana and Papa CD and Sharon McAdams grandparents also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

A celebration of Meagans life will be held at Temple Baptist Church on Tuesday, March 4th, at 2:00 pm with Pastor Keith Wilks. Interment will take place at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Hobbs, New Mexico. A special thank you to Karen Comings, Ulyssa, Sandra, Ashley, and the rest of the staff at Gentiva Hospice. In lieu of flowers, the family would like you to donate to Gentiva Hospice.
