Monica Cervantes

Monica Louise Cervantes, 53, of Hobbs, passed away, Thursday, March 14, 2013 in Lubbock, Texas. Mass of Christian Burial will be 12:00 PM, Saturday, March 16, 2013 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Father Ruben Romero, celebrant. Interment will follow in Prarie Haven Memorial Park. Rosary will be recited 6:00 PM, Friday the 15th at Griffin Funeral Home.

Mrs. Cervantes was born on June 21, 1959 in Munich, Germany. She married Armando Cervantes on January 19, 1992 in Hobbs and they celebrated over 21 wonderful years of marriage. Monica worked as a New Accounts Officer at Western Commerce Bank for many years. She was a member of the American Legion. Monica enjoyed playing bingo but her love was being with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilbur Red and Lena Sherrell.

Survivors include her husband, Armando Cervantes son, Emanual Segovia and his wife, Etty brother, Ackey Martines and his wife, Lajuana 4 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
