Paul Mulkey

Paul D. Mulkey (76 years old) from Hobbs, New Mexico passed away peacefully on December 30, 2022. He is preceded in death by his Father, James Daniel Mulkey and Mother, Lovelia Sue Mulkey and his Sister Jean Nichol. He is survived by his wife Kathy Mulkey of Hobbs, his son Wylie Mulkey (wife Noelle) of Colorado Springs, CO, his son Scott Mulkey (wife Allison) of Flower Mound, TX, daughter Jacque Mulkey (husband Bryan) of Hobbs and stepdaughter Stephanie Hulme (fiancé Tim) of Hobbs, stepson Derrik Hulme of Longview, TX and 12 grandchildren Carter and Mason Mulkey of Flower Mound, TX, Zoey, Gracie, and Chance Mulkey, Katherine and Hannah Snead, Timothy, Ty, and Lucas McCoy, and step grandchildren Sam and Emmalee McCoy, all of Hobbs.

Paul was born April 11, 1946 in Hobbs, NM. He graduated from Hobbs High School in the Class of ‘64. After high school Paul began his career in the oil field with Phillips Petroleum and Duke Energy where he retired in 2006. Paul was active in CASI (Chili Appreciation Society International) and was an accomplished chili cook. He held the 2014 Great Pepper of the year and was inducted into the Chili Hall of Flame in 2016.

Paul was a fun loving person and was a friend to many, many people. His sense of humor was beyond common and he entertained many with his antics. He enjoyed spending time with friends and family, especially his grandchildren. Paul will be missed by so many.
