Richard Robinson

Richard Glen Robinson, of Eunice, passed away on September 14, 2018, he was 73 years old. Services for Richard will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, September 18 at the First Baptist Church in Eunice, NM with Pastor Teeters officiating. A visitation will be held at Griffin Funeral Home in Hobbs on Monday from 4-6 pm.
Richard was born on January 23, 1945 as the 10th of sixteen children to W.L. and Bertie Robinson in Big Springs, TX. He grew up with a strong work ethic instilled by his father, and a love and respect for God taught to him by his mother. Richard graduated from Garden City High school in 1963 before attending Howard County Jr College. He left college to join the U.S. Army in 1965 where he served his country with the same dedication and hard work that he devoted to everything important in his life. In 1968 he married his beautiful wife, June Wills, with whom he shared over 50 years of loving marriage and raised 3 sons. Richard loved working on his family ranch, competitive roping and serving as the President of the Lea County Jr. Rodeo. His greatest passion however was dedicated to his family, whom he taught everything he could about riding horses, roping, working hard and living life the way God intended. He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters Vi and Mary Hillger, brothers Jim, Bill and Kenneth Robinson, one niece and 3 nephews.
Left to honor his memory is his beloved wife June, 3 sons; Matt (Shelly), David (Donna) and John (Lori) Robinson, brothers; John, Loren (Faye), Gary (Tomiko), Melvin and Jerry Don Robinson, sisters; Bertie Wooten, Betty (Wayne) Davis, Deanie Crafi, Debbie Robinson and Becky (Frea) Curnutt, grandchildren; Joseph Gentry, Kayla (Shawn) Johansen, Richard Keith (Crystal Harris), Wesley, Shawn, Dylan, and George Robinson, Shelby, Dalton and Travis Hacker, and Miranda and Kelsie Fish. As well as 4 great grandchildren, 28 nieces and nephews, and a host of extended family and friends. Richard will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
