Rodney Tyrone Haynes from Hobbs, New Mexico departed his earthly life December 14,2025, at the age of 50.

Tyrone was born to Essie Mae and LeRoy Haynes of Hobbs, New Mexico on March 2, 1975. He attended and graduated from the Hobbs Schools System where he played basketball and was a standout athlete. He was also a true athletic fan. He loved rooting for the Kansas Jayhawks, Boston Celtics, and the Dallas Cowboys. He worked in the trucking industry and was loved by those he worked with.

He was a gentle giant with a kind heart and had a unique ability to connect with anyone he met. He loved to laugh and had a great sense of humor. He deeply loved his family and was happiest when he was able to spend time in their presence. He was proud of his children, which was apparent when he talked about their personal accomplishments and their impact on his life.

He was preceded in death by both parents Essie Mae and LeRoy Haynes of Hobbs, NM, his son Anthony McCants (Farmington, NM), two brothers Larry Brooks (Ft. Worth, Tx) and Milton Haynes (Austin, Tx), and two sisters Jimmy Banks (Hobbs, NM) and Mary Weatherton (Austin, Tx).

He is survived by his children Latiana McCants (Albuquerque, NM), Hykeem McCants (Farmington, NM), and former wife Tashawn McCants (Farmington, NM). Siblings Michelle Davis (Hobbs, NM), Darryl Davis (Snyder, Tx), LeRoy Haynes Jr. (Hutto, Tx) John Haynes (Round Rock, Tx), Tony Haynes (Austin, Tx), Joyce Harris (Jarrell, Tx), Cora Dawson (Taylor, Tx), Martha Taylor (Lubbock, Tx), Edna McFarlin (Taylor, Tx), Alveria Clevland (Hutton, Tx), Lisa Haynes (Round Rock, Tx), Tonia Haynes (Austin Tx), Extended family. Aunts, many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Tyrone had many friends who were impactful in his life but considered Kendall Lipscomb Sr. a brother.
