Rosa Munoz Garza

Rosa Munoz Garza, 92, of Hobbs, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, May 20, 2025 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Nueva Rosita, Coahuila, Mexico in December of 1932, a daughter to the late Pedro and Natividad Munoz.

On January 19, 1953 she married Margarito Garza. They settled in Hobbs in 1960 where they raised 8 children. She was a devout Catholic and attended Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church parish. Rosa was a devoted mother to her children and enjoyed being around her grandchildren. She enjoyed gardening and being outside tending to her flowers and strived to keep her yard beautiful!

Rosa delighted in being in the kitchen, preparing some of her longed for tortillas, tamales, beans and rice, and menudo. With LOVE as her secret ingredient, she would feed anyone in the neighborhood.

Rosa is survived by eight children & significant others: Sandy Briseno and Johnny Gonzales, Juan Garza, Mary and Joe Navarrette, Maricela Garza, Ricardo Garza, Eduardo Garza, Luis and Teresa Garza, Elias Garza and Jackie Mejia, and a dear family friend Refugio “Cuco” Sanchez and Estella Trevino. She is survived by 16 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren

She is preceded in death by her husband- Margarito, son- Jose Luis, grandchildren-Justin, Marcos, Matthew and Angel N. Lozoya, siblings-Vicente Munoz and Julia Salcedo and survived by Juan De La Rosa and Dora Moreno.
