She married Sie Linthicum Jr. on June 1, 1941 in San Antonio, Texas and they had 4 daughters, Cyella, Brenda, Patricia and Penelope "Penni" and one son, Finise.

Roxie was a baptized dedicated Jehovah's Witness. Being the oldest living survivor, Roxie was the role model and matriarch for her children and all our relatives. She worked for Purolator Courier, Jack & Jill Shoppe, Gene Whitehead Janitorial Services and had her own cleaning contract services. Roxie loved to work in her yard and was a great cook who specialized in making homemade yeast rolls.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; brothers; infant sister; daughters, Cyella and Penni; nephew, Frank Howard Spencer; niece, Charlie Mae Toliver; infant granddaughter, Traci Lynette and son-in-laws, Hollis Dunlap and Tommy "TC" Jones Jr.

She is survived by her daughters, Brenda Dunlap and Patricia "Fifie" Jones; son, Finise, who was her sole caretaker for over 7 years; grandson, Douglas Bridges (Ann); granddaughter, LaToya Sanders (Ducom); 3 great grandchildren, Eric JaShon, Isaiah and Brooke Lynn Sanders; niece, Wanda "Chick" Spencer and closest cousin, Ruby King.

Roxie touched many lives and made many friends during her 97 years of life. Her relatives and friends will forever cherish her memory. We are who we became because she loved us.
