Ruben Rios

Ruben G. Rios, 89, of Hobbs, passed away Monday, December 14, 2015. Mass of Christian Burial will be 2:00 PM, Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at St. Helena Catholic Church with Reverend Ricardo Bauza, celebrant. Interment with Military Honors will follow in Prairie Haven Memorial Park. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM, Monday the 21st at Griffin Funeral Home.

Ruben was born on August 19, 1926 in Big Spring, Texas. He served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. Ruben married Mary Watts in Hobbs, NM and they celebrated over 49 wonderful years of marriage until her death in 2008. His philosophy in life was to be accepting of others for who they were and not be judgmental. Ruben had a fun loving and giving spirit. He loved to play Bingo but his true love was being with his family. Ruben was preceded in death by his wife and son, Ruben, Rios, Jr.

Survivors include his daughter, Ofelia Rios of Fresno, CA; 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: Wounded Warrior Project, P.O.
