Socorro E. Hinojos, 77, of Hobbs NM gained her wings on April 12, 2026 peacefully surrounded by her family. Socorro was born on April 30, 1948 in Artesia, NM to parents Ignacio G. Esquibel and Carlotta Bernard Esquibel. She is survived by her loving husband Juan M. Hinojos, Daughters Dina (Eddie) Chavarria, Patty (Nacho) Benavides, and son Adam (Adrianne) Hinojos and the wife of her late son, Lupe Hinojos. In addition to her husband and children, she leaves behind her 10 loving grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren, her two sisters, Ida Towner and Connie Esquibel, all of which she loved very much. Socorro is preceded in death by her parents Ignacio and Carlotta Esquibel, her three brothers Nachito, Luis, and Abel Esquibel, her son Johnny Hinojos, and her great granddaughter Abigail Hinojos. Socorro, Sokie, Kokie, Mama…. The many names she went by, but no matter what you called her, you felt the love she had to give. Her smile was everything, her laugh was contagious, and her heart was made of gold. She had a special way of loving each of us as if we were her favorite, as she always said “you are all my favorite.” Socorro loved so deeply and lived faithfully to her Jehovah God and her faith guided each step in her life. In addition to the life she devoted to the church, she devoted her heart to her loving husband of 60 years. The love between them is the love many people pray for and spend a lifetime waiting for, together they built a life they cherished and enjoyed every day. Where she was, he was, there was never a day in which you saw one without the other, the perfect team they have been, a perfect example of a love story. While we may not fully understand Jehovah God’s plan in calling her to rest, our hearts are heavy with loss. Still, we find comfort in the promise that she will be made whole again, and that promise brings us peace. Services will be held at Griffin Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 21, 2026 from 6:00-8:00pm. Funeral services will be held at Kingdom Hall on Wednesday, April 22, 2026 at 11:00am. She will be laid to rest at Prairie Haven Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family in care of Griffin Funeral Home.
