Soraida Sanchez

Soraida Velasquez Sanchez, age 63, of Hobbs, New Mexico, passed away peacefully on June 13, 2026, at the hospital surrounded by loved ones.

Born on October 15, 1962, in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico, she was the daughter of the late Alejandrina and Gonzalo Velasquez.

Soraida was a hard-working and dedicated mother who poured her heart into caring for her family. Her devotion to her loved ones was the cornerstone of her life, and the lessons, strength, and love she shared will be cherished forever by those she raised.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alejandrina and Gonzalo Velasquez; her sister, Carmen Gallegos; and her brother, Gonzalo Velasquez.

She is survived and dearly missed by her three children, Alejandro Sanchez, Rodrigo Sanchez, and Pablo Sanchez; her beloved grandchildren, Jonathan Sanchez, Adrian Sanchez, Kevin Sanchez, Alexis Sanchez, Yaneli Sanchez, and Bryan Sanchez; and her siblings, Sara Ramirez, Idalia Perez, Martha Soto, Raquel Velasquez, Dolores Velasquez, Irma Acosta, and Martha Lazcano.
