Stella Flores

☆☆☆☆In Loving Memory of Stella Flores☆☆☆☆

With heavy hearts, yet deep gratitude for a life so beautifully lived, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. On Valentine’s Day your mind and body began their journey home, though your body stayed with us a little longer, we knew the Lord was gently calling you into his piece, and on February 18, 2026 you took your final breath here on earth and gained your heavenly wings🪽

Stella was truly beautiful person inside and out. A woman with a heart so big that she never hesitated to help anyone in need. If you knew her, even briefly, you knew her tenderness, her strength, and the light she carried. She reflected the love of Jesus in the way she cared for others, always giving, always serving, always loving.

Stella was born in Tahoka T.X but lived most of her life in Hobbs, New Mexico, where she was known and loved by many. She was the best mother, wife, daughter, sister, aunt, grandma, and great-grandma anyone could ever ask for. Her children meant the world to her, she loved her family so much. Not a single day went by that she did not pray for them. During Sunday services, when asked if she needed prayer, she would always respond, “Pray for my kids and for God to keep them safe.” That was the type of her heart ❤️ she had, selfless and devoted.

A proud and faithful Christian woman, Stella loved the Lord deeply. She found joy in worship, never timid and always ready to praise. Her faith carried her through every season of life.

She was young at heart and truly the life of the party. She loved dancing every chance she got and listening to all kinds of music. Before her health challenges arose, she enjoyed walking and running at the high school track and gym. Even after illness entered her life, she refused to let it steal her joy. She continued to live fully, bravely and with strength.

She treasured outings with her son Victor and her sister Mary, especially trips to Zia Park Casino and meals at El Palomar Restaurant, where she loved the buffet. She enjoyed getting her nails done and it was a must, because Mama was just a little “bougie,” always carrying herself with grace and style.

Shopping brought her happiness, especially little boutiques and Hobby Lobby. She found peace in decorating and designing her home. Her apartment was her sanctuary. Even though she lived alone, she would say, “I’ve got God by my side, so I’m not alone.”

Stella loved watching her grandchildren at their games and school events. She loved traveling, sightseeing, visiting family, going to the movies "especially for the popcorn", and spending time in the mountains where the greenery brought her peace. She also enjoyed attending car shows, admiring classic cars, and listening to old-school music.

One of the greatest testimonies of Stella’s life was her strength. She battled dialysis for four and a half years, along with other health challenges. No matter what illness she faced, she remained incredibly strong and brave. Through every struggle, she fought with everything she had until her body grew tired and the Lord gently called her home. She will always be remembered as a hero, not only for how she fought, but for how deeply she loved.

Stella was preceded in death by her parents, Reyes Flores and Maria Flores; her beloved son, Victor Flores, also known as “Taz”; her sisters Margaret Pena and Mary Helen Flores; and her brothers Domingo Martinez, Daniel Flores, and Jimmy Flores.

She leaves behind to honor and cherish her memory: Salvador Morales of Lubbock and Salvador Zapata of Hobbs; her children Stella Lori and Anthony Richard Luna; Arturo Bobby and Lisa Moralez; Salvador Jr. and Tish Moralez; Frank Moralez and Nancy Rosales; Sarah Jane Flores; Lori Ann Moralez and Rudy Bueno; and Ray and Bridgette Zapata; Beatriz Zapata; Joe Zapata; Janie Zapata.

She is also lovingly remembered by her grandchildren: Noah Moralez, Jessica Perez, Selena Perez, Joseph “MJayy” Herrera, Nathan Herrera, Malachi Moralez, Laura, Amber, Marky, Arthur Morales, Roman Morales, Leresa Morales, Elyssa Aguirre, Aaliyah Chavez, Anissa Martinez, Ray Zapata Jr., Elexiz Zapata, AnnaCeli Zapata, Sebastian Zapata, Christian Zapata, Antonio Ricardo Luna, Nathaniel Marcel Luna, Nathaniel Devin Durham, Ethan Elijah Luna, Layla Neveah Luna, Ali'ana Diaz, Ivan Perez, Xavier Zapata, Megan Marie Moralez, Amanda Desiree Morales, Jonathan Mikel Islas, Jeremiah Zachary Moralez, Angel Flores, Michael Flores, Penelope Flores, and Venelope Flores, along with many cherished great-grandchildren.

She is also survived by her loving siblings: Dianna Coronado, Beatrice Gomez, Sally Deleon (Jimenez), Guadalupe Flores, Yolanda Sainz, Freddie Flores, Tina Flores, Arthur Rodriguez, and Aurora Arozco.

Her legacy of faith, strength, courage, joy, and unconditional love will live on in every life she touched.

Though our hearts ache, we find comfort in knowing she is now resting in the arms of Jesus — whole, healed, and at peace ✨️
