Troy May

Troy A. May, 61 of Hobbs New Mexico, lost his long battle against cancer January 5, 2017. He was born September 9, 1955 in Joplin, Missouri and was preceded in death by his mother, Emma Shropshire and his father and stepmother, Carroll and Pearline May. Throughout his life he lived in Hobbs, NM, Kermit and Odessa TX. Although he held many positions in the oil field, he spent most of his career as a driller.

Troy is survived by his devoted, loving girlfriend, Jeannie Hall; beloved daughter Shahala Valentine; grand-daughters, Viviana, Eleanor and Summer Valentine; cherished siblings, Vickie Mullen, Carol Webb, Lisa Bunch, Penny Cline and Larry Dale. He was often referred to by his nieces and nephews as their "favorite uncle" and will be missed greatly by all who loved him. Troy also leaves behind a loyal companion, his Chihuahua, Miss Piggy May and many wonderful friends. May none forget his spunk, love for the outdoors, generosity and amazingly big-heart and may he always live in our memories.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM, Friday, January 27, 2017 at Griffin Funeral Home.
