Virginia Castillo

Virginia "Chata" Castillo, 84, of Elida, NM, passed away Sunday, January 15, 2017 in Lubbock, Texas. Mass of Christian Burial will be 12:00 PM, Thursday, January 19, 2017 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Reverend Jose Segura as Celebrant. Interment will follow in Prairie Haven Cemetery. Visitation will be from 8:30 AM- 7:00 PM, Wednesday at Griffin Funeral Home. A rosary will be recited at 6:00 PM.

Chata was born on September 7, 1932 in San Antonio del Bravo, Mexico to Eduardo and Aurelia Jimenez. She married Librado Castillo and they celebrated many years of marriage until his death in 1981. Chata was also preceded in death by her parents and son, Rosalio Castillo.

Survivors include her daughters, Lucia Chavez, Jeanie Ornelas and Gloria Castillo; sons, Julian Castillo, Polo Castillo, Jesus Baeza and Juaquin Castillo; 1 sister; 6 brothers; 60 grandchildren; 40 great grandchildren; 35 great great grandchildren and 15 great great great grandchildren.
