Ms. Virginia Saiz left this world to be with her Lord on Saturday September 23, 2017 at the age of 68. Virginia was born on October 2, 1948 in Clovis New Mexico to Moises and Mary Barela.
Ms. Saiz was the true embodiment of fortitude and compassion. She spent over 25 years working for the city of Hobbs as an environmental supervisor. This was a meticulous job which required fine attention to detail and discipline to maintain high standards. In her downtime she enjoyed playing with her cat Miss Kitty, watching television, playing poker or getting down to the bingo hall to visit with friends and play the game.
Virginia loved her job and enjoyed her free time but for her these things were only fleeting moments. Her true love and passion was her family. She adored her children and loved them deeply. She always placed the needs of others before herself and was a strong and selfless woman. The legacy she leaves for her family is the unconditional heart that was always open for them, the dedication to her Lord, and the pillars of an amazing family that she built which will be passed down to future generations.
Virginia is survived by her daughters Mary Smith and Ted, Desiree Williams, Katheryne Saiz; son Ruben Saiz Jr. and Joann; sisters Martha Brand, Jean Gomez, Sharon Barela, Mozella Garcia and Denise Pate; brothers Moises Barela Jr. and Joe Barela; grandchildren Aric, Brendon, Ava, Asia, and Ethan; numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband Ruben, daughter Patricia and her parents.
A memorial service will be held for Ms. Saiz on Friday September 29, 2017 at 3:00pm at the Latter Day Saints Church on 3720 N. Grimes.
