Walter Clay Williams

Walter Clay Williams entered Heaven’s Gates surrounded by loved ones Thursday June 29, 2023, in Hobbs, New Mexico.

Walter was born August 14, 1926, in Henderson, Kentucky to Charles & Clara Williams. He is survived by his wife Elizabeth Williams, son William W. Williams, daughters Mary S. Sosa, and Sharon Gail Ledgewood, brother Cleo Williams and sister Virginia Ruth, 8 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

Walter was proceeded in death by his parents Charles and Clara Williams, 2 sons Julian and Rudy, brothers Wayne, Jesse, Charles Jr. Leslie, Cabel and Manuel, sisters Mary, Stella, Elizabeth, and Gertrude.

Mr. Walter C Williams was a decorated World War II veteran and lifelong New Mexico resident. While living in Carlsbad, New Mexico he was a sworn Deputy Reservist for Eddy County Sheriff’s office. He drove trucks for 15-20 years. Walter enjoyed ranching, hunting, and fishing. Walter always looked forward to his grandchildren’s visits.
