Abel Hernandez

Abel Sanchez Hernandez came into this world August 12, 1951, in Puliques, Ojinaga, Chihuahua, Mexico to Fermin Brito Hernandez and Guadalupe Sanchez Hernandez. He was returned to his home on December 16, 2022, in Hobbs, New Mexico surrounded by his family.

Abel was a hard, working family man. He began his life working in the fields in Mexico. He married the love of his life Noemi Orozco on August 31, 1974. After moving to the United States, he started working the oil fields. He worked as a floor hand on pulling units until he retired. Abel and Noemi had 3 sons Obed, Oreb, Luis, and one daughter Jessica. He loved his kids and would be the first to watch whatever they were active in. That did not change when his grandkids came along, he was always there to cheer them on no matter where it was! Abel loved to dress up, the family even remembers him wearing his full cowboy gear to the beach, Six Flags it did not matter – hat to boots.  Abel loved to cook. He absolutely loved to play volleyball and to stay active when he was younger. Abel loved to go hunting, fishing and horses.  He tried to stay busy with hobbies and yard work. He loved taking care of his lawn. Abel decided to go back to work for a while. He had to retire for good after an accident.  Abel and Noemi were members at Hobbs First Assembly of God. When you saw him at church he would always be dressed to the nines. Abel loved to go to Ruidoso for family time, they went every Thanksgiving for years to get outside and spend time together. He was able to spend his last birthday there with his family this year.

Abel is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife Noemi, son Obed (Crystal), Oreb, Jessica (Ramon Lopez), Luis. Grandchildren Khaleb, Bella Stylz Hernandez, Julian, Jaylah Hernandez, Alberto Preston Hernandez, Isaac Segundo, and Jazlyn Lopez. Brother Vicente Hernandez, and sister Martina Hernandez Reyes.
